Accommodation Terms and Conditions 2009

  1. Availability. The offer of any room is subject to the room being available on receipt of deposit.
  2. Deposit (non returnable). A deposit of L40 per person is required which will be credited against the account. The insurance will be added to the deposit and is not returnable. When the cost of the stay is less than L40 the deposit will equal the full amount of the stay.
  3. Payment. Account balances must be paid by cash, credit, debit or switch cards. Please note that payment is due on arrival. If paying by cash or payment has been made in full before arrival, we will need to swipe your card on arrival. All extras not paid on departure will be automatically charged to your credit card. No personal or company cheques are accepted.
  4. Credit Card Charges. If you are paying by credit or debit card, there will be a handling fee. The fee is equal to 3% of the total booking amount; this will be added to your bill and payable on arrival.
  5. V.A.T. V.A.T. is included in all prices.
  6. Car Parking. Parking is available. Although every reasonable care is taken the Hotel does not take any responsibility regarding guests' cars.
  7. Dogs. Dogs are taken at the discretion of the management and only if previously booked. They are not allowed in any of the public rooms. A charge of L3.00 per night is made.
  8. Meals and Refreshments. Breakfast served between 8.00 and 9.30am. Dinner served between 6.30 and 8.00pm. Sample menus available on request. Meal times are subject to occasional variation, during our busiest times there may be a wait for a table.
  9. Allowances. No allowances can be made for rooms not being occupied for the full period of booking or for meals not taken.
  10. Valuables. The proprietor cannot be held responsible for cash or valuables unless they are deposited in the Hotel reception and a receipt obtained.
  11. Fire Safety. The Hotel is up to date with its fire precautions and has been granted a fire certificate.
  12. Arrivals and Departures. Bookings commence at 3.30pm on day of arrival, ceasing at 10.30am departure day. Guests are welcome to use the hotel all day and late room checkouts may be arranged at an extra charge. This arrangement can only be made close to the date of the holiday and subject to availability.
  13. Variations. Occasionally the Management may vary the entertainment or amenities on offer. We reserve this right.
  14. DDA. Please advise us of any access needs that you have in order that we can provide the appropriate service.
  15. Special Offers. Special offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, and if conditions are not met then the standard tariff will apply.
  16. Behaviour. Behaviour of guests and their visitors should not be excessive or rowdy, and must not cause embarrassment to fellow guests. We reserve the right to recover any compensation payment as a result of your actions, or a member of your party or visiting friends. This includes damage to hotel buildings, fixtures and fittings. Please inform us before arrival if you are travelling in a group of six or more. We reserve the right to refuse large groups and you will be required to provide a 'damage deposit' at check-in.
  17. Towels. Guests are requested to bring their own towels for the beach.
  18. Smoking. Please note the Hotel Riviera is a non-smoking hotel.

Holiday Cancellation Scheme

Cancellations must be made to the Hotel in the first instance by telephone, then in writing. In the event of cancellation we make every effort to relet the accommodation. However if we are unable to do so you can be held legally responsible for two thirds of the total cost of your booking. We have joined an insurance scheme whereby you may cover your liability to the hotel and also secure the return of your deposit.

The Charge is £4.00 per person, £3.00 per child, per week which should be added to your deposit.

By means of this insurance, provision can be made for the repayment of the deposit already paid and in such amounts for which you may be legally liable to the proprietors up to the limit of £500 per person should your holiday be cancelled by reason of death or accident to, sickness of, husband, wife, in-laws, brother, sister, child or close business associate or pregnancy (if unknown at time of booking).

A Doctors certificate and notification in handwriting is required.

Conference Terms and Conditions 2009

  1. Bookings and deposits: When making a booking it must be confirmed in writing in the form of a company headed letter, fax or email. We will then acknowledge receipt of your booking in writing. It is your responsibility to check all of the details on your confirmation are correct and inform us of any inaccuracies at this point.
  2. Payment: The total amount must be paid on departure unless a credit account has been set up by prior agreement.
  3. Cancellations: Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and will be effecting on the date received by the hotel. All bookings may be cancelled without incurring a penalty charge up to six weeks before the date of the event. Any bookings cancelled after this date will incur the following cancellation charges:

Less than six weeks notice - the customer is liable for 50% of anticipated charges.
Less than two weeks notice - the customer is liable for 75% of anticipated charges.
Less than three days notice - the customer is liable for 100% of anticipated charges.

Function Terms and Conditions 2009

  1. Bookings and deposits: When making a booking it must be confirmed in writing and accompanied by a deposit of L200.00. We will then acknowledge receipt of the deposit and confirm your booking in writing. It is your responsibility to check all of the details on your confirmation are correct and inform us of any inaccuracies at this point. You must indicate approximate numbers for your function at the time of booking; a charge may be levied if the final number is significantly lower than specified at this time.
  2. Number of guests: The number of guests attending your function must be confirmed in writing at least two weeks before the day of your event. We will issue a pro-forma invoice based on these numbers. No allowances can be made for guests unable to attend after this date. Full payment is due seven days before the event.
  3. Cancellations: In the event of a cancellation we must be advised in writing and the following cancellation terms apply:
    The deposit is non-refundable.
    Less than ten weeks notice - the customer is liable for 50% of estimated balance.
    Less than six weeks notice - the customer is liable for 75% of estimated balance.
    Where no charges have been agreed, the minimum priced menu and room hire applies.
  4. Behaviour: We politely remind you that you are fully responsible for the conduct of all guests that you invite onto the hotel premises. We reserve the right to recover any compensation from you for any malicious or wilful damage caused by a member of your party.
